A lovely blend of film & digital photography
Through innovative trial & error, extensive research and an exemplary mentorship & friendship (director of photography, digital & analogue photographer Chris Gustafson) I have developed my unique narrative using complex color theory to imitate film stock, analogue equipment to poetically document, editorial portraiture for dramatic enhancement and photojournalistic candids that humbly narrate.
Delicately documented with vintage equipment, I capture my images with focused intention and allow moments to unfold organically. This harmonious blend of photojournalistic & editorial photography narrate an experience through romantic images that age gracefully through trending times.
Jasmine Baetzel
I use a combination of both digital & film equipment to ensure no common mistakes that come with film are made. I never solely shoot with film and rely heavily on my digital cameras.
I am mostly a lone shooter but I am always the main photographer. My portfolio reflects my personal work and I do not hire out photographers or use any of their shots on my website or socials. With the amount of travel I do, it is difficult to rely on second shooters or assistants to accompany me every weekend as well as finding photographers who can use the same equipment as I do, to maintain consistency in the final wedding gallery. Second shooters who use analogue equipment are available however, please inquire for detailed info.
Yes, printing rights do not have to be purchased separately. I am a perfectionist and do not have the experience or knowledge of a printing lab to provide a product up to my standards. I leave it up to the professionals and provide printing options in the final gallery.
In a regular season I take no longer than 60 days and always provide sneak peeks within a week of the wedding day. However, because I am a lone wolf, in very busy seasons (like 2022) I am at the max turn-around time of 90 days.
I do all the color-correcting myself. Because I developed my own workflow that incorporates analogue equipment the color correcting process cannot simply be outsourced. In very busy seasons, this can cause a backlog but I take pride in my work and ensure every photo is personally hand-picked and professionally edited.
Once edited, I export the watermark-free photos to an online gallery in both high-resolution and social media size .jpgs - the link is sent via email and can be easily shared with others.
